Breast Augmentation & Lift

PROCEDURES OF EXCELLENCE

Book today!

When pregnancy, weight changes, or time leave their mark on your breasts, you deserve a solution that addresses every aspect of your concerns.

For many women, the most complete answer comes from combining a breast augmentation with a breast lift. This approach improves fullness and position in one procedure, giving you results that feel natural, youthful, proportionate and more in tune with how you see yourself.

The Renewal You Choose!

A breast augmentation and lift, or augmentation-mastopexy, simultaneously addresses volume loss and breast ptosis (sagging). On their own, breast implants add fullness but do not correct drooping, while a lift raises the breasts but does not increase volume or restore shape in the upper pole. When performed together, these complementary procedures create results neither could achieve individually.

This is the most comprehensive option for women seeking complete breast renewal. Rather than settling for partial improvement or undergoing two separate surgeries, an augmentation and lift produces fuller, rounder, perkier breasts in a single surgery. The outcome is a balanced figure that feels natural and uniquely your own.

Why Do We Choose Breast Augmentation and Lift?

Many women describe looking in the mirror and feeling like their breasts belong to someone else. The upper portion looks hollow or concave, while the remaining tissue has gathered lower on the chest. Their nipples might point downward instead of forward, and their bras might not fit the way they used to, no matter what size they try. These are natural changes that no amount of exercise can ever address.

During pregnancy and nursing, breast tissue expands dramatically. Once milk production ends, that tissue shrinks, but the stretched skin and supporting ligaments may not return to their original state. You may be left with breasts that have not only lost their fullness but have also descended on your chest wall.

Weight gain and loss can have a similar effect. When breasts enlarge and then shrink again, the skin may not rebound. Each cycle of weight change weakens the internal support system that helps hold your breasts in place. Eventually, that support system loses the ability to keep up with the demands placed on it.

Add to this the natural aging process, where collagen and elastin production steadily decline year after year, and you have a perfect storm of factors working against your breast aesthetics.

A breast augmentation and lift addresses these changes comprehensively. While a lift alone might leave you wanting more fullness, and implants alone could result in fuller breasts that still sag, together they restore the elevated position and beautiful volume that define youthful breasts.

What Does a
Breast Augmentation & Lift Treat?

1

Volume Loss With Sagging

Breasts that appear both smaller and lower than before

2

Upper Pole Hollowness

A sunken or concave appearance in the upper breasts

3

Loose, Excess Skin

Skin that has lost elasticity and makes the breasts look deflated

4

Nipple Malposition

Nipples that have migrated below the breast crease and point downward

5

Stretched Areolas

Areolas that have expanded and lost their proportion to the breast

6

Significant Asymmetry

Breasts that differ substantially in size and/or position

What Are My
Breast Augmentation & Lift Options?

Combining breast augmentation with a lift involves coordinating multiple surgical decisions to create your ideal outcome. Dr. Nodwell will guide you through each choice, customizing every aspect of your surgical plan to match your unique anatomy and goals.

Implants are the foundation of the augmentation part of your surgery. Together with Dr. Nodwell, you will make decisions regarding the following:

  • Implant material: saline, silicone, or fat transfer
  • Implant shape: round or anatomical
  • Implant texture: smooth or textured
  • Implant placement: above or below the chest muscle, or dual-plane
Child Slide

The optimal lifting technique will be determined by your degree of ptosis and skin quality. Dr. Nodwell may recommend the periareolar incision for mild sagging with minimal scarring around the areola, the vertical incision for moderate ptosis, or the inverted-T incision for advanced sagging that requires maximum correction and skin removal.

Child Slide

There are aesthetic advantages to combining procedures. In most cases, the augmentation and lift can be performed through the same set of incisions, which leaves you with less scarring than if you had the procedures separately. Dr. Nodwell will strategically plan his technique to accomplish both the lifting and implant placement through the most discreet incisions possible.

Child Slide

While many women benefit from a single combined surgery, some cases call for a staged approach. During your consultation, Dr. Nodwell will evaluate whether a single combined surgery or staged procedures would best serve your needs. He will guide you toward the path that maximizes your safety and the quality of your results.

The Nodwell Experience

Breast Aesthetics Excellence

My approach to augmentation-mastopexy has grown from years of caring for women at all stages of life. You can't simply do two separate surgeries at the same time. The implant and the lift have to work together like dance partners. I've spent years refining my technique to find the sweet spot where both elements enhance each other.

Even after performing hundreds of breast procedures, I still find each one uniquely rewarding. The moment a patient sees her results and says, "Yes, that's exactly what I've been picturing" — that's why I do this work.

If you choose me as your surgeon, you’ll have a partner who sees you as an individual, values your trust, respects your goals, and treats you with integrity. I make that commitment to every patient who entrusts me with their transformation.

The Nodwell Experience

"Surgical excellence is just the beginning."

Am I a Candidate for Breast Augmentation & Lift?

During your consultation, Dr. Nodwell will perform a thorough evaluation of your breast tissue, skin elasticity, chest anatomy and overall body proportions. He will also review your complete medical history to ensure this combined approach is safe and appropriate for you.

A breast augmentation and lift works particularly well for women whose breasts have changed dramatically after pregnancy and nursing. If you find yourself tucking excess breast skin into your bra while wishing for more fullness, you're likely an excellent candidate. The procedure also benefits those who've experienced massive weight loss and need both the structure of implants and the reshaping that only a lift can provide.

The timing of your surgery matters as much as your physical candidacy. Since future pregnancies and breastfeeding would likely affect your results, we recommend waiting until you've completed your family. Weight stability is also desirable, as significant weight fluctuations after surgery can compromise your outcome.

Most importantly, you should feel emotionally ready for this transformation. Having realistic expectations about the recovery process, risks, scarring, and potential outcomes — and feeling confident in your decision of procedure and surgeon — are all vital components of being an ideal candidate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is It Better To Get a Breast Augmentation and Lift Together or Separately?

For most patients, combining breast augmentation with a lift is more advantageous than staged procedures. A single surgery means one recovery period, one anesthesia experience, and often lower overall costs than two separate procedures. Additionally, combining procedures allows for better aesthetic planning. Your implants and lift are designed to work together from the start, creating more harmonious and predictable results.

Staged procedures may be recommended in certain situations. If you have severe ptosis, extremely thin breast tissue, or significant asymmetry, performing the procedures separately might yield superior outcomes. Some patients also prefer to see how a lift alone affects their appearance before committing to implants.

During your consultation, Dr. Nodwell will evaluate a variety of factors to recommend whether a combined or staged approach would serve you best.

How Should I Prepare for a Breast Augmentation and Lift?

Health optimization starts weeks before your surgery. If you smoke, you must quit completely at least six weeks before your procedure, as nicotine severely compromises healing and increases complication risks. Review all medications and supplements you take with Dr. Nodwell, as many need to be discontinued before surgery. Focus on maintaining excellent nutrition with plenty of protein and hydration to give your body the best foundation for healing.

Create a comfortable recovery space at home with medications, water, healthy snacks, entertainment and other essentials within easy reach. Make sure you have shirts that button or zip in the front. You won't be able to raise your arms overhead for a period after surgery.

Arrange for help during your initial recovery. You will need someone to drive you home after surgery and assist you for at least the first 48 hours. Plan for time away from work and arrange childcare or household help for at least the first week.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a Breast Augmentation and Lift?

When you choose a breast augmentation and lift with Dr. Nodwell, you can expect comprehensive improvement in the size, shape, and position of your breasts. Your results will include fuller, rounder breasts with improved upper pole fullness, complemented by a lifted, youthful position with forward-facing nipples.

While you'll see dramatic improvement immediately after surgery, your final results develop over several months. Initially, your breasts may sit overly high on your chest and feel firm. Over the next three to six months, your implants will settle into their optimal position and your breasts will soften. The incision lines will fade significantly over 12 to 18 months.

To protect your investment, maintain a stable weight and follow Dr. Nodwell's long-term care recommendations. Regular follow-ups allow us to monitor your implants and ensure your results continue to meet your expectations.

How Much Does Breast Augmentation & Lift Cost?

The cost of a breast augmentation and lift reflects the complexity of performing two procedures in one surgery.

While combining procedures is an investment, it often provides better value than scheduling surgeries separately. You can save on facility fees, anesthesia costs, and the indirect expenses of two separate recovery periods.

We support our patients in their efforts at responsible financial planning. We offer several financing options through trusted partners that can help you manage the cost with payment plans tailored to your budget. Our team can help you determine which plan is the best fit for your needs.

What Should I Expect from
Breast Augmentation & Lift Recovery?

The combination of procedures typically results in more swelling and a slightly longer initial recovery than a single surgery. However, most women find the convenience of one recovery period far outweighs the additional few days of healing time. Understanding what to expect at each stage helps you prepare mentally and physically for your transformation.

Immediately After Surgery

You will wake up wearing a surgical support bra with light dressings over your incisions. Drainage tubes are rarely necessary for this combined procedure. You'll feel tightness and pressure from both the swelling and your new implants. Pain is typically well-controlled with prescribed medications, though many patients describe the sensation as more pressure than pain. You'll need someone to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24-48 hours.

Immediately After Surgery

1-3 Days

The first 72 hours involve the most significant discomfort, with swelling and bruising reaching their peak. Focus on rest, staying ahead of any discomfort with your medications, and gentle movement around your home. Short walks help promote circulation and prevent complications. Keep your arms below shoulder level and avoid any lifting or straining.

1-3 Days

1 Week

By days 4-7, most patients transition to over-the-counter pain relievers. You'll return to our office for your first follow-up, where we'll check your incisions and ensure everything is healing properly. Light activities become possible, though you'll still tire easily. Your surgical bra stays on continuously except for showering. Swelling begins to subside.

1 Week

2-3 Weeks

Most patients return to desk work during week two. Your energy improves daily, though you should still avoid lifting anything heavy. Bruising fades significantly, and you may notice your implants beginning to soften slightly. Incision care continues with scar treatment beginning as directed by Dr. Nodwell.

2-3 Weeks

4-6 Weeks

You can gradually resume more activities, including light lower body exercise. Your breasts begin to settle into a more natural position as swelling continues to resolve. The surgical bra can often be replaced with a supportive sports bra, and many patients feel comfortable attending social events during this time.

4-6 Weeks

6-12 Weeks

Most exercise restrictions lift around 6-8 weeks, though chest-specific exercises require Dr. Nodwell's clearance. Your implants continue settling, creating a more natural look and feel. By three months, most swelling has resolved, and your breasts have assumed a much more natural appearance.

6-12 Weeks

After 3 Months

Your results finalize as your implants fully settle and lifted tissue completes its healing. Scars continue fading and softening with proper care. Regular bra wearing resumes without restrictions, and all activities including high-impact exercise are fully permitted.

My 32ddds never seemed crazy huge, but the sag caused me rashes that had me scratch so badly I’d bleed. Decided to check with a PS to see what could be done. Found Dr. Nodwell on Google reviews and this site. Liked him immediately.Hadn’t planned on leaving a review, but this site was so helpful to me, figured I’d pay it forward. We did a small reduction, lift with axillary liposuction, and I’m really thrilled with the result.Dr. Nodwell was a pro, made me feel comfortable they the process and did great work. His assistant Emily was gracious with all my questions and quick to respond. This pic is 2 weeks post recovery...obviously, some healing to go and a proper after picture is a couple of months away, but almost no bruising left and the girls are back in their rightful place. I’m looking like I’ll settle in at a 32d. I’m 50, 5’7 and about 140 pounds.First few days were sore from the lipo, and that’s still a bit tender but otherwise, just a bit tired. Ready to get back to work and light cardio!Would recommend the procedure and Dr. Nodwell and his team in a heartbeat.Looking forward to shopping for tank tops and bathing suits!
