Many individuals are dissatisfied with the profile and silhouette of
their neck. Changes such as loose skin, excess fat or thick
muscular bands can appear for a variety of reasons (natural
aging, genetics and weight changes). Not surprisingly these
changes are managed in different ways. Excess fat can often
be addressed by liposuction alone, via a small incision under
the chin. Through a similar incision, prominent muscular bands
can be tightened. If more skin needs to be removed, then a
second well-hidden incision may be required around the folds
of the ear.
Neck lift can be combined with other facial procedures and
is most commonly performed in conjunction with a face lift.
